Photovoltaics. Due to the steadily increasing energy

costs solar systems for power and heat generation

continue to gain in importance. Both as a retrofit

solar system and in facade integration – the system

used by Terraglas offers a solution for both

installation options.

This way, the refurbishment of a building´s facade can

also provide an opportunity to think about a future-

proof energy concept. In addition to the standard

substructure, system clamps specially adapted to the

solar modules from the accessories range are also

used for attachment.

Because of the price advantage opposite other systems,

the cost-effectiveness of a solar system already begins

with the planning and construction stages. Solar energy

generation is becoming a visually attractive and

economically profitable element in the design of

facades for new buildings and in facade renovation.

Competition. The university of Wuppertal has successfully

applied to participate in the 'Solar Decathlon Europe

2010' in Madrid. The goal of the team of students was

to develop and build a house of the future that is

supplied by 100% with solar energy. The system used by

Terraglas was used in implementing the concept because

of its visual and structural advantages.
